continental Spain and the Iberian Peninsula It is part of the Sierra Nevada range in the Cordillera Penibética. Mulhacen is named after Muley Abul Hassan, the penultimate Muslim King of Granada in the 15th century, who
was buried, according to legend, on the summit of the mountain. |
